A mill with a unique design and ingenious mechanism

A hand-carved shape, wood chosen to last

This wooden pepper mill is distinguished at first glance by its double sphere silhouette , entirely hand-carved.

This shape is the result of meticulous craftsmanship , carried out in a small Cambodian workshop by a team of artisans partnered with La Plantation. The wood used is acacia, which has been used in Cambodia for generations to make furniture and kitchen utensils. This wood is known for its robustness, density, and natural resistance to moisture—essential qualities for a manual pepper mill designed to last.

Locally produced and rooted in Cambodian know-how

This handcrafted pepper mill was born from a collaboration between La Plantation and Mr. Saroeun, a carpenter since 2004.

The creation of each piece follows a rigorous process. The acacia logs are first cut, transported to the workshop, then hewn and left to air-dry naturally for one to two months. Once dry, they are shaped into cylinders , drilled, and refined. The drying process continues for five weeks, until the wood's moisture content drops to between 5 and 8%, guaranteeing perfect long-term stability. Each piece is then hand -carved, sanded , and assembled . Finally, a protective coating is applied to enhance the wood grain and ensure its longevity.

The CrushGrind® mechanism: Danish precision and durability
The internal mechanism of this pepper mill is made by CrushGrind® , a Danish brand founded in 1994 and recognized worldwide for the quality of its ceramic grinding systems. The design of this mechanism required over a year of research and development , including work in Japan, to identify the right material and perfect every detail.

The result is a robust , precise , and durable mechanism that won't rust or wear out from contact with spices or salt. An integrated adjustment system allows for easy adjustment of the grind size, from coarse to fine powder, to suit all culinary uses.

Maintenance and preservation: how to take care of your wooden mill?

An acacia wood pepper mill is easy to maintain, provided that a few essential precautions are taken.

Clean it only with a dry cloth after each use.

Never immerse it in water and definitely do not put it in the dishwasher: excessive moisture can warp the wood and damage the mechanism. If spice residue remains inside, a quick brush with a dry brush will remove it.

Store your mill in a dry place, away from direct heat and moisture.

A well-maintained, quality acacia wood mill can accompany your kitchen for many years.
